Planet Internet Service

If humans made it, it will break down.  Nobody can promise your internet will never crash, but if you think yours is crashing a little too often, or you're looking for good consistent tech support, try us out!

It took a great deal of technical expertise, but we've finally developed our own internet service.

Planet Internet Service

At Planet, we have been working since 2004 on our own internet service. Since Advertisnet internet broke off its relationship with Planet in November of 2003, we have been trying to come up with a service of our own. In September of 2004, we finally had an opportunity to buy lines for a dial-up service.  Now , after “testing the waters” and monitoring the performance of the network, we feel confident in openly promoting Planet Internet Service.

There is a bit of confusion left over from our Advertisnet days mostly because we signed almost a thousand customers for them during our relationship. Now, 3 years later we still get support calls for Advertisnet. Though we want to see everyone get the help they need, we do ask that Advertisnet customers call Advertisnet first. Also, Advertisnet still holds the “@planetsos.com” domain name. This is because of the difficulty in moving it and because of the large number of Advertisnet customers using planetsos.com for an e-mail address. Currently Planet Internet is using “@plsos.com” for our e-mail addresses. It’s less to type and still gets the point across. Planet is making plans to retain the planetsos.com name but for now it belongs to Advertisnet. How do you know if you are an Advertisnet customer or a Planet customer? Who do you pay?

How much is our service?

$18.00 a month is our basic month to month fee which includes a statement in the mail the old fashioned way, plus a reminder Email.

$17.00 is the quarterly pre pay level, $51.00 every three months.

$16.00 is the credit card auto withdrawal and pay by the year level $192 a year.

What do I get?

Our dialup service is 325 hours a month. That’s called “unlimited” by industry terms. But we don’t call it that because it is misleading. 325 hours does give you over 10 hours a day every day of the month. There are no overage fees, you’ll just run out of time till the next month and you get another 325 hours. You get up to 10 e-mail addresses at no extra cost. There are no late fees. You just get dropped at the end of the month if you have not paid for the next month.

Why aren’t we as cheap as some of the other internet services available in the area? We would rather be better than the other internet services in the area.  You have your own line, so there's precious little chance of the line being busy, and nobody goes the extra mile for tech support like we do.

Notice the fees are all to the nearest dollar. Other internet services add $.95 to their fees as a “con” to get you to pay another dollar without thinking about it, or to make a big deal about saving you that 5 cents.

Planet has plenty of dial tone. There shouldn't be any busy signals.  We buy lines at the end of every month, based on the customer numbers that we have. We can even buy lines in other parts of the country. Right now we have customers as far away as Illinois and Texas, and local dial-up numbers from Bangor Maine to Honolulu Hawaii, except Stover.  (We're working on that.)

Why choose Planet Internet?

We are here, and strive to be the best. You can call us and talk to a real person. Computers do not answer our telephones, there is no voice-mail, "press one for this" or "2 for that", and you can understand us even though our accents are decidedly mid-western. You can even come see us. We have a store front, a place for you to go. We're not based in Taipei or Bangalore.  We don’t just call ourselves “Local” or “Hometown”.  We are local and hometown.

How do I sign up?

Just call Planet at 573-378-6464. We can set you up over the phone, even if you only have one line. Just make up a user-name, (the first part of your Email address) and a password.  There is no setup fee.   Just be sure to pay for your first month before the end of the month you sign up in. A great tip for getting your first month free is to signup on the first of the month. Since we don’t bill for fractions of a month, it’s a free ride till the end of the month.

See you on line!
